Fun at Full Circle Round Up

Yesterday, RVA families came together at Deep Run Park to participate in the 9th annual Round Up. “Round Up the Family” is an event hosted by Full Circle, an organization that provides comprehensive grief support here in RVA. This year’s event included a half mile fun run, a 5K walk/run, field games, crafts and a raffle full of some amazing prizes.

There were fun raffles with outstanding local sponsors.

Kids and adults enjoy lots of activities and events. What better place to be on this cool, beautiful spring Sunday afternoon!

I loved the sweet art around the event.

And this little guy captured everyone’s heart!

Tribute signs, a special way to honor and remember loved ones, were placed along the race route to serve as a reminder of why we’re here and inspired runners to keep going. Signs were purchased for $25 to support Full Circle programs and were personalized with a loved one’s name, picture and a personal message. Participants were able to take these home at the end of the race.

I have volunteered with Full Circle for many years and love the services that they provide right here in RVA.

“Grief is such a universal and singular experience and I love that Full Circle so compassionately and creatively assists families and children in our communities learn to express their emotions, find connection with others in mourning, and ultimately move from mourning toward peace and hope. The fact that they provide these services at no cost to their clients is an incredible gift and I’m happy to support Full Circle in any way I am able.” – Karla Thews, Round Up Planning Committee and Full Circle volunteer.

I’m excited about Full Circle’s next big event, Full of Heart, presented by Bon Secours Bereavement Center, November 19th at the Hippodrome Theater. This is a fun night of bidding on some amazing silent auction items, dancing, eating and drinking with friends, all while supporting a wonderful organization.

Full Circle is always looking for valuable volunteers who want to support and spread the news about their services. To register to volunteer, to learn more about what they do, or to find ways to support their mission at Full Circle, please visit the website.

A quick and easy way to support Full Circle is by supplying them with some items needed for the various programs offered. Please take a look at this list and next time you’re in Target, consider grabbing a few things and dropping them off.
