From the moment we walked into River Road Cottage, we knew it would be a unique and fun experience. This little cottage nestled in the heart of Goochland on River Road is warm and inviting from the minute you step onto the country porch. Missy, Lisa, Rebekah & Tina, the shop owners, are four friends with a dream. And their shop is just a short drive from the west end of Richmond.
River Road Cottage is in the historic Goochland Courthouse area where they feature an array of artisans, vintage finds, antiques, and handmade creations for a unique shopping experience. And it’s a great place to find unique gifts for someone special on your list too.
The shop is home to 28+ local vendors and artisans, specializing in farmhouse decor, upcycled furnishings, wood crafts, jewelry, vintage finds, gifts and more. New inventory is added daily. They are open Tuesday – Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10am-4pm.
And this weekend, September 14-15, is their Grand Opening where you can snag great deals, enjoy snacks, and maybe win prizes!
We’re loving the cute covered ‘books’, candles, and beads.
There are a variety of unique items repurposed like this Mason jar tissue holder that’s perfect for farmhouse decor. Or a cute addition to a teacher’s desk.
And the seasonal fall decorations are so cute and unique. We’re eyeing these hand-painted pillows for a purchase!
Artists display unique paintings, drawings, and sketches throughout the cottage shops. If you don’t see what you want, you can speak with them about custom art too.
Fall is in the air and River Road Cottage has so many great items for fall decorating.
You’ll find lots of cute handmade necklaces, earrings, and other jewelry too – including these handmade leather earrings.
Handmade pens, pencils, and more are also available – created from real wood! What a great teacher gift – red ink on one end and black on the other in this unique design. There are plenty more creative wood pieces in this shop.
And lots of home accessories for any taste and budget.
