I love a good cup of coffee. I especially love a creamy, rich vanilla latte.
And Lamplighter Coffee did not disappoint.
It’s easy to see why Lamplighter is often named top coffee in RVA.
One of my favorite things to do, especially on a cool Fall morning, is visit a great local coffee shop. I have several favorites but hadn’t made my way yet to one of the Lamplighter locations. Last weekend, we ventured out to Scott’s Addition for the Summit Avenue location and I’m so glad we did.
My younger kids (and husband since he’s not a coffee drinker…why you ask…I have no idea how anyone doesn’t love a good cup of coffee) all ordered a hot chocolate and agreed it was one of their favorites in RVA. My oldest daughter and I love a good latte and the vanilla latte did not disappoint. It was smooth and creamy and the latte didn’t overtake the coffee like some do. I have to say I think it was the best latte I’ve ever had (Frothy Monkey in Nashville and Caffespressova here in RVA both a close second).
We also had some pretty amazing gluten-free brownie bites (thank you to all of the wonderful RVA coffee shops offering gluten-free goodies). The non-gluten-free members in our family enjoyed a chocolate croissant, warmed up of course and from what I hear…was a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
The atmosphere is simple and minimalistic with exposed brick and succulents perched along the window sills – and the people were so friendly and welcoming. It was a fun place to visit on a beautiful RVA morning – no matter where you are because they have three locations! And you may want to check out their shop for one of their delicious specialty blends.
